Glows in the Dark
Locating
your LatchLight in the darkness of night is effortless with its glow in
the dark handle. No additional lights needed to find it!
The Science Behind The Light
LatchLight keeps you and baby in sleepy-mode!
LatchLight
is designed to be close to red on the Kelvin scale to avoid melatonin
disruption and has low lumens (brightness) to help parents and babies
fall back asleep easily. Unlike other nightlights that spread light in
all directions, LatchLight provides directional illumination with a
narrow 40-degree angle, preventing it from shining into the eyes of
newborns or parents.
FAQs from LatchLight
- What makes LatchLight the most sleep-friendly light for night feeds on the market?
LatchLight
features a warm coloor temperature, low intensity output, and a narrow
40-degree beam angle, making it the best nightlight on the market for
night feeds. Its simple on/off button is separate from the brightness
selector, avoiding the hassle of cycling through settings. No phone app
or sensitive tapping is needed, ensuring ease of use when you're
exhausted. Every second of sleep counts!
- Is LatchLight suitable for both breastfeeding and bottle-feeding?
Yes!
LatchLight is designed to support both breastfeeding and
bottle-feeding. The built-in light illuminates the latch area on both
the breast and bottle, making it easier to check that baby has a proper
latch. Additionally, the silicone latch-assist tip helps adjust your
baby's lips for a more optimal latch on both the breast and /or bottle.
LatchLight is also versatile for other nighttime tasks, such as changing
a nappy, providing a gentle and convenient light source.
- What is the silicone latch-assist tip used for?
The
silicone latch-assist tip helps adjust your baby's lips to create a
more optimal latch on both the breast and bottle. Once your baby has
achieved a deep latch, some babies' lips may need adjustment to untuck
and uncurl, improving suction. Traditionally, moms use their finger for
this, a method known as “Digital Flanging” in the lactation community.
However, since a newborn's lips are tiny and a mom's finger can be bulky
and not always clean, the slim silicone latch-assist tip provides a
more suitable and hygienic solution. The tip can be easily removed for
cleaning and sterilizing. If your baby doesn't need any adjustments, you
can simply remove the silicone tip altogether.
- Is LatchLight safer for my baby?
Yes!
As parents, safety in our design was our top priority. Our commitment
to safety is reflected in our rigorous adherence to the standards set by
the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). LatchLight plastic is
BPA-free, and the only part that touches your baby’s mouth is made of
FDA-food grade silicone. Additionally, LatchLight exceeds testing
requirements for durability, flammability, and toxicity, ensuring the
utmost safety for your baby.
- How do I clean the LatchLight
Silicone Tip: Remove the silicone tip for full cleaning and sterilization, and it is dishwasher safe on the top rack!
Plastic
Handle: Simply wipe it clean with common household wipes comprised of
soap & water or 70% alcohol. It is also compatible with commonly
found breast pump wipes.
- Why and how does LatchLight glow in the dark?
LatchLight’s
handle is designed to glow in the dark so you can easily find it
without needing another bright light (yes – we have thought of
everything!). To initially “charge” the glow-in-the-dark handle, simply
expose it to a bright light source, like sunlight or a room lamp. When
LatchLight is turned on, the built-in LED replenishes the glow during
each use, ensuring it remains visible in the darkness of night.
- What is LatchLight's battery life?
LatchLight
uses a commonly found alkaline A23 replaceable battery, tested to last
up to 700 hours on the dimmest brightness setting. On average, a mom may
spend approximately 573.75 hours breastfeeding during nighttime feeds
in the first year. Therefore, depending on your brightness preference
and duration of use, you most likely will not need to replace the
battery during your baby’s first year! Please note that brightness may
gradually diminish over time as the battery's lifespan decreases, and
actual performance can vary due to factors such as temperature
variations and battery brand. However, if you need to replace the
battery, you can do so instantly without needing to sit near a plug
waiting to charge. We understand the importance of instant use.
